How to use

  1. Choose, drop or paste one image or up to 30.
  2. Resize by pixels, percentage, longest side or a social media size.
  3. If the shape changes, choose Crop to fill (drag to choose what is kept), Fit with border or Stretch.
  4. Select Resize, check the result and download the image, or all images as one ZIP.

Examples

Make a 4000 × 3000 photo 1200 pixels wide

Enter 1200 as the width and keep proportions locked. The height follows automatically, giving 1200 × 900 pixels.

Resize 20 holiday photos for email

Add all the photos, choose Longest side and pick 1920 px. Every photo keeps its own shape, smaller photos are not enlarged, and you download them together as one ZIP.

An Instagram post from a landscape photo

Choose Social media and Instagram post, square. Drag the preview to keep the important part, or choose Fit with border to keep the whole photo on a white or coloured background.

A YouTube thumbnail of exactly 1280 × 720

Pick YouTube thumbnail from the social sizes. The preview shows the exact shape before you resize.

Limitations

  • Making an image larger cannot add detail; enlarged images may look soft.
  • Crop to fill removes the edges that do not fit the new shape. The preview shows what is kept.
  • Up to 30 images and 60 MB per batch; each image up to 20 MB and 24 megapixels. The result can be up to 24 megapixels.
  • Re-encoding removes most embedded metadata.

Troubleshooting

My image looks stretched

Lock proportions, or choose Crop to fill or Fit with border instead of Stretch when the new shape is different from the original.

The important part was cut off

With one image, drag the preview to move the crop. With several images, choose which part to keep (top, centre, bottom, left or right), or use Fit with border to keep everything.

The file size went up

Resizing changes the pixel dimensions, not the compression. The default 100% quality keeps the most detail, so a smaller picture can still be a larger file than a well-compressed original. Lower the quality in Advanced options, or use Compress image afterwards.

Questions and answers

How do I resize an image without losing quality?

Reducing dimensions keeps images sharp. Enlarging cannot create new detail, so start from the largest original you have.

Can I resize many images at once?

Yes. Add up to 30 images. With proportions locked or Longest side, each image keeps its own shape. Download them one by one or all together as a ZIP file.

What size should an Instagram or YouTube image be?

Common sizes are 1080 × 1080 for a square Instagram post, 1080 × 1350 for portrait, 1080 × 1920 for stories and 1280 × 720 for a YouTube thumbnail. They are all ready to pick under Social media.

Do I need to set DPI?

Not for screens and uploads. Websites and forms use pixel dimensions. For print sizes in millimetres or inches, use Meet an upload limit, which also saves the DPI.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Resizing runs in your browser on your device.
