How to use

  1. Choose one or more JPG, PNG or WebP images, or paste one with Ctrl+V. We detect each file's real format.
  2. Pick the format you need and, for JPG or WebP, the quality.
  3. If an image is transparent and you choose JPG, pick a background colour.
  4. Select Convert and download the image, or all images as one ZIP.

Examples

A form only accepts JPG and you have a PNG screenshot

Choose the PNG, select JPG and convert. If the screenshot has transparent areas, pick white as the background first.

A whole folder of WebP images that an app cannot open

Select all of them at once (up to 30), choose JPG and convert. Download them together as one ZIP file with the same names.

A logo must keep its transparent background

Choose PNG or WebP as the output. JPG cannot store transparency.

Smaller images for a website

Convert to WebP at 80% quality and set a maximum width of 1920 px in Advanced options. The before/after slider shows that the quality still looks the same.

Limitations

  • Up to 30 images, 20 MB each and 60 MB in total per batch.
  • JPG does not support transparency. Transparent areas are filled with the background colour you choose.
  • Animated images are converted as a single still frame.
  • Colour profiles and metadata are not kept, so colours can shift slightly. Camera and location data are removed.
  • Some browsers, including Safari, cannot create WebP files. The WebP option is hidden when that is the case.

Privacy

This tool processes files on your device. Files are not uploaded for processing, and nothing you choose is stored after you close or reset the page. Read our privacy notice.

Troubleshooting

My file was rejected

Only real JPG, PNG and WebP files are supported. Renaming a file extension does not change its format. HEIC photos are not supported yet.

The background turned black or white

That image has transparency and JPG cannot store it. Choose PNG or WebP to keep transparency, or pick a different background colour.

The converted file is larger than the original

That can be normal. PNG keeps every pixel, so photos saved as PNG grow. Simple graphics such as screenshots or logos are often smaller as PNG than as JPG or WebP, and a high quality keeps more detail. The result names the reason for the format you chose. Pick another format, lower the quality, or use Compress image.

Questions and answers

How do I convert PNG to JPG?

Choose your PNG, select JPG as the output and press Convert image. If the PNG is transparent, pick the background colour first.

Can I convert many images at once?

Yes. Choose up to 30 images together, even in different formats. They are converted one after another and you can download each one or all of them as a ZIP.

Which format should I choose?

JPG for photos that need to be widely accepted, PNG for screenshots, logos and transparency, and WebP for smaller files on the web.

Which quality should I use?

90% looks the same as the original for almost every photo. 75 to 80% is a good choice for websites. PNG is lossless, so it has no quality setting.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Conversion runs in your browser on your device.
