How to use

  1. Choose what the code should contain: a website, text, Wi-Fi, email, phone, SMS, contact, location or event.
  2. Fill in the details. The preview updates as you type, and a scan test checks that it reads correctly.
  3. Optionally pick a pattern, corner style and colors, and add your logo or a caption such as Scan me.
  4. Download a PNG or SVG, then scan it with your phone before you print.

Examples

Let guests join your Wi-Fi

Choose Wi-Fi, type the network name and password and keep WPA/WPA2/WPA3. Guests scan the code with their camera and connect without typing the password.

A QR code for a printed menu or poster

Choose Website, paste the address and download the SVG. It stays sharp at any print size; print it at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide with dark modules on a light background.

Contact details on a business card

Choose Contact, fill in your name, phone and email, and download. Scanning the code offers to save you as a contact.

A QR code with your logo

Under Design, add your logo, pick the Rounded or Dots pattern and your brand color. Error correction switches to High automatically, and the scan test confirms the code still reads.

An event invitation

Choose Event and enter the name, start time and place. Guests scan the code to add the event to their phone's calendar.

Limitations

  • Static codes cannot be edited after printing. To change the destination later, create a new code.
  • We do not count scans. Static codes have no tracking.
  • A QR code holds a limited amount of data. Long texts make dense codes that are harder to scan.
  • A large logo, the dots pattern or low contrast can make small printed codes harder to read. Keep the scan test green and test with your phone.
  • Some older phones do not support Wi-Fi codes. Recent iPhone and Android cameras do.

Privacy

This tool works entirely in your browser. What you type is not sent to our servers, and it is not stored after you close the page unless the tool offers to keep it and you turn that on. Read our privacy notice.

Troubleshooting

My phone does not scan the code

Use a dark code on a light background, keep the quiet zone turned on and print the code at least 2 × 2 cm (about 1 inch). Very long content makes small codes hard to read.

The Wi-Fi code does not connect

Check that the network name and password match exactly, including capital letters, and that the security type is right. Most home networks use WPA/WPA2/WPA3.

The link opens the wrong page

Check the address in the box. Type the full address, such as example.com/menu, rather than a shortened link that might change.

Questions and answers

Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static codes: the content is stored in the code itself, so it keeps working forever. Only the website it points to could stop working.

Can I use the QR codes commercially?

Yes. The codes you create are yours to use on menus, flyers, packaging, business cards and anywhere else, free of charge.

How do I make a QR code for my Wi-Fi?

Choose Wi-Fi, enter the network name and password and pick the security type. Guests scan the code with their camera to join without typing the password.

Can I add my logo to a QR code?

Yes. Under Design, choose a logo (PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG). It is placed in the middle, error correction is set to High, and the scan test tells you if the code still reads. Choose a smaller logo if it does not.

How do I make a QR code for a location?

Choose Location and paste the coordinates from your maps app, such as -23.5505, -46.6333. Scanning the code opens the place in the phone's maps.

Should I download PNG or SVG?

PNG works everywhere, for screens and documents. SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, best for professional printing and design apps.

What does error correction do?

It adds redundant data so the code still scans when part of it is dirty or covered. Medium suits most uses; choose High for printed codes that may get damaged.
